1 Chronicles 16:8

The students and staff are settled back into the school year routines. Summer is slowly becoming a memory and we are enjoying a lovely fall. The leaves are changing colour and we are yet again reminded of the beauty of God’s creation.

Calendar Highlights:

Thursday, 6th Oct:        Parent/supervisor interviews upon request

Monday, 10th Oct:        Thanksgiving holiday.

Tuesday, 18th Oct:        Annual General Meeting: This is an opportunity for you to get to know the parents of your children’s friends and the operation of Cedar Christian Academy. We strongly encourage at least one parent from each family to be present to discuss the running of the school and voting on the budget. This is a parent-run school and therefore requires the parents to be present to have input into this ministry that each one has chosen for their child(ren). The meeting will commence at 7:00 p.m. sharp and will end at approximately 9:00 p.m. (maybe earlier).

Thursday, 20th Oct:       School photos, both class and individual only (no families) will be taken at the Nazarene campus. Please fill in the attached form and send cash or cheque in advance to CCA for the amount of the order. The basic package is $20 and $23 for graduating students. Bring your best smile. See attached form.

Friday, 28th Oct:           Information for Arts & Crafts must be given to supervisor

Friday, 4th Nov:            Last day of 1st quarter

Walk-a-thon  The students participated again this year in the Heart & Stroke Foundation walk. Thank-you to all who contributed to this event. $165 was raised for this worthy organization.

Focus on the family book order: What a great way to build up your library!! Flyers with explanations will be distributed next week.

Fundraising: One of our regular fundraisers, Regal, has fortunately filled for bankruptcy. This means we will have to work extra hard to make up the income that was raised from Regal.

Again this year we will have to work together to make fundraising successful! Much funds are need to cover the many costs of operating our school. If you would like to help in any way, we would love your help! Many hands make light work!! Our first fundraiser will be the sale of cookie dough. The flyers will be handed out next week with more details of the sale. Please try to support our event by showing your friend and family the brochure of the different cookie dough. If you have any suggestions on fundraising or you would like to help, please contact Carol Brassard at 422-1141.

Snacks: Junior learning centre students are to bring a healthy fruit or vegetable for their snack. Please, no sugary snacks. This is good advice for everyone. Seniors must bring a snack and a lunch.

Dress Code: Students must keep a pair of shoes for wearing indoors, which must be worn at all times. Students must bring gym clothes on gym days and change at school. Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately for the weather.

Help needed: Two young boys need a lift to and from the Nazarene campus each day. They live across from the Fairview campus. Please let Mrs. Rice know if you are able to drive them.

Please check the school calendar regularly.

All important dates and activities are marked on it.
