Celebration Central - October 2006
From Sue Smith, Event Coordinator, 514-684-6163 (M, T, TH, F - 1-3pm)
There is a lot to celebrate around Cedar this fall. Here are a few things to make note of:
- TUCK SHOP
Each week we celebrate goals achieved with a chance to spend merit money at the Tuck Shop. If you have items to donate that students could purchase, please contact Sue Smith.
Ideas: Candy, small toys/items in kid’s meals, dollar store, party supplies, pens/pencils
The Student Leaders in all Learning Centers suggested for Tuck Shop, the chance to rent videos, dvds, music cds, computer or video games, etc. for a week. They would use their merit money to rent them and then return them before renting another. If you have appropriate items to donate, it would make a great Tuck Shop item. An inventory list would be sent home so you could help your child know which choices were appropriate for them.
- ACTIVITY DAY
Celebrating the end of a quarter and lots of hard work will take the kid’s on courageous adventures every quarter. Take note of the dates for the activity days this year and look for specific information about the exact activity, cost, transportation needs and details coming in October.
November 10 – Outdoor/fall adventures
December 8 – Rehearse Creative Arts Night/Christmas Party
February 2 – Snow Days adventures
April 13 – Museum adventures
May 18 – End of School adventures
- AWARDS CELEBRATIONS
Our awards ceremony will include a day of celebration with a special meal or dessert, Courageous Christian guest speaker, opportunity to give by donating food for West Island Mission, and a special activity on campus.
The dates of these days are Nov. 23, Feb. 15, April 26.
Look for more information to come before those days.
